What Did I Think About Juggling Mandarins?
I enjoyed Juggling with mandarins, but it was a bit predictable at times. The book deals with many issues, like a teen growing up with all the trimmings, girls, boys, family and school. I Enjoyed the whole “rock climbing” thing because i love rockclimbing, but i didnt enjoy the whole katie and phil/phillip/pip/pipsqueak thing, because it got a bit boring, and i didnt so much enjoy the mandarin area. But for some reason the teacher in the book reminds me of Ms Tapp… Odd, Eh? My favourite character was probably beattie, allthough i didnt like the name, i dont know why, but she was cool, i like people with attidtude, and im usually not a fan of the main character. The end was a bit predictable, except for the phil and katie saga, i thought they might have ended up together. It could have been different because they could have ended up together. I think the book is called juggling with madarins bacause obviously because of the sub-plot about the juggling, also i think it was called that because phil is trying to juggle all the areas of his life, and trying not to drop them. Overall i would have to give it a 3/5 because i didnt like it that much.

i luved the book. katie turned out 2 be a biaaaaaatch basically and pip ended up with a better friendship with beatie. the rock climbing concept was good, it was a change from like the regular sports like footy or cricket and so on and so on. and i didnt like the dad, he was a bit retarded….

Sometimes you have to wonder where authors come up with names for their stories. I mean - how many Beattie’s have you ever met? Perhaps why they choose an unusual name - but then what happens is people read the book, like the character - and so end up liking the name of the character and in a few years we suddenly babies being born called Beattie!
